Welcome to GI LOOMS
A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Creativity
Our journey began in 1980 with the vision and determination of Mr. Shambhu Singh
Gahlot, a visionary from the humble village of Lawan, Rajasthan, India. Balancing financial constraints with a relentless drive for excellence, Mr. Gahlot transformed a modest village enterprise into a beacon of craftsmanship and cultural heritage.
Starting with just a few looms and a dream, Mr. Gahlot’s unwavering dedication to quality enabled the small venture to flourish. His success wasn’t just personal; he empowered his community by providing livelihoods for local villagers through the creation of exquisite, handmade rugs and carpets. This commitment to craftsmanship and community has been the foundation of Gi Looms.

The journey didn’t stop with Shambhu Singh. In 2019, his son, Mr. Ravindra Singh Gahlot, joined the family business, bringing a fresh vision and ambition to expand Gi Looms’s reach to a global audience. With a deep respect for his father’s legacy and a passion for innovation, Ravindra aimed to merge traditional craftsmanship with modern business strategies. Under his leadership, Gi Looms has embraced sustainability and eco-conscious production methods, elevating the brand on the international stage while maintaining the soul of handcrafted excellence.

Today, Gi Looms is a name synonymous with the timeless art of handcrafted rugs, where each piece reflects a deep connection to tradition, skill, and artistry. Our collection spans a wide range of materials, from cotton and jute to wool-jute blends, and showcases the beauty of diverse weaving techniques. These intricate designs are brought to life by over 300 skilled artisans, mostly from rural backgrounds, who take pride in transforming each rug into a masterpiece.

Our philosophy extends beyond craftsmanship. At Gi Looms, we are committed to sustainability and ethical production. By sourcing materials responsibly and employing eco-friendly processes, we ensure that our practices leave a minimal environmental footprint. Additionally, we prioritise the well-being of our artisans, providing fair wages and fostering an environment where they thrive as part of our extended family
Our dedication to innovation and excellence has been recognized with National Merit Certificates for innovative jute and cotton rug designs, awarded by the Honourable President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, in 2013 and 2014, received the prestigious Bunkar Ratna Award in 2018 and Sant Kabir Award in 2022. These accolades reflect our commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional craftsmanship while upholding the integrity of our art.
As Gi Looms continues to grow under the joint vision of Shambhu Singh and Ravindra Singh Gahlot, we are driven by a passion to blend heritage with modern design, offering sustainable and artisanal rugs to clients around the world. Every rug we create tells a story—one of tradition, passion, and the hands that crafted it.
